best cheeseburgers in cincinnati

Who doesn’t love a great cheeseburger? I have been on a burger-kick for about a month now, so I thought I’d use that obsession to benefit you by sharing my top picks for “Who Has The Best Burgers In Cincinnati?”.

1. Rusty Bucket – Rookwood Commons

The Rusty Bucket in Rookwood Commons has won my vote for the #1 cheeseburger in Cincinnati.

I ordered the Bucket Burger which includes American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle and mayonnaise. To build the perfect cheeseburger, I asked them to cook it to medium-well and added bacon.

Although it took a bit longer than I expected, it was totally worth the wait!

The burger patty wasn’t round, and that told me right away that Rusty Bucket uses fresh meat, not frozen. I could definitely taste the difference and it was super juicy.

The bacon was cooked to perfect crispness to add a bit of crunch to what was already perfection.

I had never eaten at Rusty Bucket, but this heavenly cheeseburger has definitely won my heart! For the best burger in Cincinnati, I’ll be heading back to Rusty Bucket.

2. Wild Mike’s on Delhi Pike

Another great find for a scrumptious cheeseburger is Wild Mike’s.

Although Wild Mike’s is better known for their hot wings, they have a killer burger that every burger-lover needs to taste. This has been a westside favorite of mine for years.

Wild Mike’s has several chicken sandwich options, double-deckers, beef barbecue, and steamed broccoli if you want a veggie with your meat. They also have a wide selection of other items, including a kid’s menu, so the whole crowd will be pleased.

3. Hooter’s On The River

Let me start by saying this, as a woman, Hooter’s is definitely not my ideal restaurant choice. However, for a great burger in Cincinnati, Hooter’s on the River has forced me to put my feminist bias aside.

When it comes to the weather in Cincinnati, you never know what you’re going to get. Summer is over, but last week we had a few days of sunshine and temperatures in the low 80’s – awesome weather for October in the Nati – so some friends and I decided to take the boat out for one last ride.

From Mariner’s Landing in Sayler Park, we headed east on the Ohio River, with Hooter’s as our destination for lunch.

Although Hooters is best known for their wings, I ordered their Build Your Own Burger with lettuce, tomato, onion, bacon and mayonnaise.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good their burger is! The Hooters burger was my top choice for the best burger in Cincinnati until I visited Rusty Bucket – even then it was hard to place their burger as second.

The meat was perfectly cooked, just slightly pink in the center, and all of the toppings were fresh.

Technically, Hooters is not in Cincinnati, it’s in Newport, Kentucky. Trust me, it’s worth the extra 5 minute drive over the Suspension Bridge to experience one of the best burgers in Cincinnati.

4.Murray’s Wings Pub & Grill

Murray’s Pub on the west side of Cincinnati has one of the best cheeseburgers in Cincinnati.

This place is a great spot to get together with friends. It’s a bar atmosphere, where the bartenders are friendly, and on most nights you’ll get music or karaoke. All that, plus great food!

The burgers and other food is made-to-order, so your beef patty is fresh and juicy. Add bacon for an extra crunch ๐Ÿ™‚

Not only do they serve burgers and other American fare, their smothered chicken sandwich is also a mouth-watering option.

5. Mr. Lucky’s at Hard Rock Casino

One of Cincinnati’s best attractions, Hard Rock Casino, also houses Mr. Lucky’s, the burger joint that makes creating delicious cheeseburgers seem easy.

I’m a frequent visitor of the casino (one of my few vices, by the way), and Mr. Lucky’s is my favorite choice for take-out after a couple of hours of playing the slots.

Mr. Lucky’s also offers a popular veggie alternative, the Beyond Burger. It’s a plant-based patty, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles on a potato bun.

For us meat-eaters, you can choose from their Lucky Burger, Patty Melt, or a Turkey Burger to save a few calories. Mr. Lucky’s also offers delicious sandwiches, chicken wings and tenders, a wide selection of side items, and salads.

Don’t forget to grab a tasty milkshake!
